Our 2021 Pandemic Florida Class of '57 get-together

March 23, 2021

******************We had an unusually small attendance this year, due to the Pandemic.

********************We all had to have had 2 of the Covid-19 shots, in order to attend.

However, we still did enjoy our little group - and thankfully the weather did co-operate.

We went out on a Pontoon boat, which we had all to ourselves, other than the necessary crew members.

This was in Clearwater, Florida.

The bus arrived at about 10:00 AM at our house here in New Port Richey, and the driver took some photos of us.

We all had white baseball caps, with our names on them.

The bus driver drove us to Clearwater Beach, where we boarded our boat at about 11: 30 AM.

We brought sub sandwiches along, for us to eat on the boat. The boat went slow enough, so that we were able to do that downstairs. Though it was a bit chilly down there, since there was not the sunlight to warm it up.

Most of us spent most of the time upstairs, where there was sunlight, and you could watch over the back and side of the boat, watching the waves and looking for Dolphins. We saw a few. Happily, our great photographer Kathy, snapped a photo of one.

After the 1 1/2 hour trip on the boat, we disembarked, and the bus was waiting for us, to take us back home.

It was probably only a hour ride back, and when we got back 'Elvis" (our talking poster, when you walk into the door) greeted all of us.

Also, we had the moving lights to the (poster) juke box, on. And the large TV screen had some 50's songs on it.

We had dessert, mostly cake, ice cream and fruit - and chatted for a while, before the party broke up.

I'm so very glad we were able to have even a SMALL get-together this year, and didn't have to entirely skip.

It's ALWAYS a treat to get together with our "Class of a Lifetime" ----

*****************************We are so fortunate to have been in such a great class.
